GTA 6 DualSense Controllers: Pre-Orders Open September 10

Sony has unveiled two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense wireless controllers — one white, one black — priced at $84.99 each, with pre-orders opening September 10 and both launching alongside the game on November 19.

Revealed during PlayStation’s September 3 State of Play, the pair wraps the PS5’s standard controller in Vice City styling: a shimmering, color-shifting finish, molded palm trees, and the GTA VI logo on the touchpad. If you want one, the clock matters — pre-orders open at a fixed time on September 10 and Sony is selling them in limited quantities.

What Sony announced

There are exactly two controllers — the Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition — and nothing else. Sony did not announce a matching PS5 console, a console cover, a DualSense Edge variant, or a bundle with the game. Each controller carries a recommended price of $84.99 USD / €84.99 / £74.99, about ten dollars above a standard DualSense.

Both release on November 19, 2026 — the same day GTA 6 arrives on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders open September 10 at 10:00 AM local time (7:00 AM PT / 10:00 AM ET in the US).

Two finishes: daybreak and nightlife

The split is thematic. The White Limited Edition is built to evoke “Vice City at daybreak,” from white sands and pastel skies to what Sony calls its “laid-back glamour.”

The Black Limited Edition flips the mood, capturing “Vice City’s iconic nightlife” with a darker body that lets the neon accents pop.

Underneath the two colorways, the design language is shared. Both controllers use a shimmering, color-shifting finish that fades from iridescent blue into purple, with a pearlescent purple panel around the thumbsticks and a blue-to-purple sparkle along the bottom edge. The face buttons wear hot-pink icons, the touchpad carries a gray “VI” rendered in the official game-logo styling, and palm trees are molded directly into the body. Flip either one over and the Grand Theft Auto logo is embossed on the back, with palm-frond shapes pressed into the grips.

As with every DualSense, the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are the real hook in-game, reacting to the action as you move through Jason and Lucia’s story.

Where and how to pre-order

Pre-orders go live September 10 at 10:00 AM local time. The White edition will be sold through direct.playstation.com and participating retailers globally, in limited quantities. The Black edition is a PlayStation Direct exclusive in regions where the service operates, with select retailers carrying it elsewhere.

PlayStation Direct is available in the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, and Austria, with Portugal handled through the PlayStation Store hardware page. Given the “limited quantities” wording and a fixed pre-order time, popular editions could sell through quickly.

Should you pre-order?

These are pure collectibles. There’s no console, no cover, and no discount for buying into the theme — just a $10 premium over a standard controller for the Vice City finish. If you want one to have in hand for launch day, the combination of limited stock and a set September 10 window means it’s worth deciding before pre-orders open rather than after. For everyone else, a standard DualSense plays GTA 6 exactly the same on November 19.
